A well established foundry company with a reputation for consistently delivering high quality aluminum, brass and bronze castings, is searching for a Foundry Engineer to join their team!  The Foundry Engineer opening is located at their Bensenville, IL facility.  Our client needs someone who can come in and be a technical lead for them.  The Foundry Engineer will be responsible for the design of layouts for gating and risering of patterns and core-boxes in this green sand and no bake molding facility.  

Responsibilities include:
*Interpreting drawings, solid models and specifications.
*Creating and validating tooling/pattern layouts for sand molding of non ferrous castings.
*Working with pattern riggers and pattern shops to develop tooling and gating as planned.
*Estimating casting and mold weights in support of quotation development.
*Creating process documentation and instructions as appropriate to support process in implementation in accordance with The Quality Management System.
*Identification of casting related defects and determining associated corrective actions.
*Resolving technical problems and communicating directly with customers.
*Performing special projects and duties as assigned.
*Provide material certification as required.
*Maintaining material certification records.
*Performing material analysis including chemical and mechanical testing as required.
*Responsible for customer ECO changes.
*Analyzing and responsible for RGA process.

Requirements:
*A degree in Engineering/Metallurgy/Science AND/OR foundry experience in manufacturing of sand castings OR pattern-maker with foundry experience in manufacturing of sand castings
*Previous foundry experience REQUIRED
*Must have strong computer skills with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
*Experience with SolidWorks, CAD, PRO-E or other Solid modeling applications
*Strong project management skills
*Familiarity with directional solidification modeling software
*Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Preferred:
*Ability to speak Spanish
*Skills with ISO 9001 quality management systems
*Pattern making experience
