RESPONSIBILITES of the HVAC Manufacturing Engineer:  This position is responsible for design and plan of process flow for Coils, Assembly, Fabrication and Material Handling: including waste elimination and cost reduction through continuous improvement activities (kaizen events), execution of Lean Manufacturing principles, process/equipment capability and capacity evaluation, project management with full implementation of new equipment and process improvements, supply chain logistics, and providing daily technical support to the manufacturing line.

QUALIFICATIONS for HVAC Manufacturing Engineer:
  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited university in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology
  • Fully developed professional able to work with minimal direct guidance or direction from others
  • Create process continuous improvement through use of statistical metrics such as CpK, PpK, GRR, etc. thus driving repeatability and reproducibility.
  • Experience in applying Lean Manufacturing principles and incorporating new methods and processes to improve existing operations.
  • Six Sigma or other problem solving methodology experience a plus
  • Work experience in the HVAC or automotive industries with applied manufacturing processes
  • Strong computer and system skills are required.  Solidworks experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships with production employees, peers and manufacturing supervision.  Supervision of hourly personnel on a periodic, as needed basis is required.
  • Solid communication skills, both verbal and written, across a diverse audience are required.  Ability to train production personnel in new or existing methods is required.
  • Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.
  • Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
  • Assist in driving the development / deployment of a third party auditable Quality Management System (ISO9000).
