Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor:
  • Monitor activities and Supervise Hourly Employees in both the Assembly and Shipping Areas as a significant portion of this assignment.
  • Determine most cost effective, timely methods of shipment of outgoing freight while considering freight damage and customer satisfaction.
  • Must be able to maintain and improve Material and Information Flow throughout the Assembly and Shipping Areas.   
  • Maintain and Improve 5S/6S in Shipping and Assembly Areas.
  • Devise and lead Capital Improvement Projects.
  • Troubleshoot new or existing manufacturing and/or shipping problems. Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations.
  • Devise and lead Kaizen Events to improve the metrics of Internal PPM, Customer PPM, Labor Efficiency, and Productivity in the Shipping and Assembly Areas as applicable.
Requirements for Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor:
  • Work experience in Manufacturing Engineering / Manufacturing Supervision – Required.
  • Work experience in the HVAC industry a plus – Preferred.
  • Energetic, hands-on, results oriented individual with ability to foster positive relationship with production employees – Required.
  • Must be able to lead, train, and develop Lead Personnel and the Operations Workforce as a significant portion of this position – Required.
  • Must be able to administer the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement – Required.
  • Must be able to maintain and improve an Environmental Health and Safety system currently in place as related to ISO 14001 Certification – Required.
  • Must be able to maintain and improve a Quality System currently in place as related to ISO 9000 Certification – Required.
  • Must have comprehension and ability to apply principles of ergonomics in Departmental activities and improvement processes – Required.
  • Must have comprehension and ability to apply 5S principles in Departmental activities and improvement processes – Required.
  • Must possess ability to drive changes through Continuous Improvement, Kaizen Activity, and Lean Manufacturing – Required.
  • Must be able to learn to create and apply Value Stream Maps and Process Flow Diagrams in Continuous Improvement efforts – Preferred.
  • Will possess strong computer and system skills, versatility in Microsoft Office – Required.
  • Must understand Lean Manufacturing Principles, Statistical Metrics such as CpK, PpK, GRR, and Statistical Process Control Methods – Required. 
  • Experience and application of Six Sigma or other recognized Problem Solving Methodology – Preferred.
