 Sales Manager (National) –  Photonics and Spectroradiometer / Spectrometer technology 

This Sales Manager opening is within an existing and well-branded business poised for growth and success!   The sales manager will have one report (East Coast) and support of an inside sale account manager and a technical service representative to ensure business success.  Due to Customer Locations, the best location for this Sales Manager is Western, California Bay Area or nearby.  Willing to consider other locations, home-based and travel expected.

We are seeking a High-energy Sales Manager with a can-do attitude and technical aptitude, to develop and maintain a revenue pipeline selling world-class light and color measurement Photo Research Imaging technology solutions (Spectroradiometer or Photonics industry). This comprehensive instrument line measures visible and near IR light and color for Fortune 500 companies and major universities in the following industries and more:  displays (computer, medical, home entertainment, smart phones, tablets, e-readers etc.), architectural lighting, military, professional and home A/V, aerospace, automotive, academic etc.

Sales Manager - Key Responsibilities:
  • Research accounts, identify key players, and generate interest in our solutions by understanding customer needs and requirements.
  • Define target lists of potential customers; maintain and expand a database of prospects within assigned territory.
  • Perform daily calls to targeted customers to identify revenue opportunities and secure customer purchase orders
  • Internal collaboration with operations on a daily basis to ensure customer requirements can be met   
  • Conduct post-sale follow up, maintain communication, and develop accounts by checking buying history, suggesting related, and new items, and explaining technical features.
  • Understand competition’s strengths and weaknesses
  • Together with marketing, identify new and emerging applications and new product needs to Photo Research R&D
Sales Manager Required Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, technical discipline preferred.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in outside sales or sales engineering or technical support.  With a Proven track record of exceeding monthly and quarterly sales goals.
  • Experience using CRM system(s) preferred.
  • Travel: Up to 60% is required.
