Our client is a leading manufacturer of plastic components for the automotive industry, seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician with the desire and potential to become the Maintenance Supervisor in the near future. This position is ideal for an experienced Maintenance Technician who strives to be in a supervisory/leadership role in the future, as this person will be developed for that advancement opportunity. The Lead Maintenance Technician will be responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of the manufacturing equipment and building. The Lead Maintenance Technician will be hands-on but also enjoy problem-solving and having accountability for their department.

Responsibilities of the Senior Maintenance Technician:
  • Troubleshoots problems, repairs machines and equipment, giving priority to equipment directly related to production
  • Develops, maintains, and ensures the implementation of the preventive maintenance programs for the production machines, the peripherals and all other equipment used for manufacturing operations
  • Documents repairs and preventive maintenance activites
  • Communicates with equipment vendors and maintenance teams at other company sites
  • Has responsibility for building/facility maintenance
  • Works with Quality group to ensure compliance with TS16949 and ISO 14000 systems
  • Organizes, purchases and maintains the spare part inventory
  • Works with Production and Engineering for continuous improvement of production tools and equipment
Requirements for Senior Maintenance Technician:
  • 2 year technical degree or related experience
  • 5 or more years of experience in manufacturing maintenance
  • Experience with plastic injection molding, blow molding or extrusion strongly preferred 
  • Must have knowledge of electrical systems including 3 phase 480 volt installation, repair and troubleshooting
  • PLC and Electrical Controls troubleshooting and repair
  • Hydraulic systems troubleshooting and repair
  • Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams
  • Readiness to supervise a team of 4 maintenance personnel in the near future
  • Ability to supervisor contractors at the facility
