Job Description

The Senior Electrical Engineer and is responsible for implementing the development of new products and manufacturing techniques in response to needs, specifications, and objectives established by the corporate and development organization.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:
  • In conjunction with the Product Manager, manages and maintains product requirements and specifications throughout the product development process
  • Review and edit data sheets, operator and user manuals
  • Devise and lead the implementation of test, validation, verification and assembly plans
  • Serve as the technical liaison with a regulatory engineer to establish certification or product approvals, such as FM, UL, and ATEX
  • Apply technical knowledge and experience to support factory requests for assistance in resolving design-related manufacturing and assembly issues for released products
  • Support QA in determining root cause of field failures
  • Work with a Product Release Specialist to ensure the transfer of new products from Engineering into production
  • Participate in a team environment to drive project to an established completion date.
  • Express design ideas, processes and specifications in diagrammatic form as documents, drawings, prints or schematics
  • Apply technical knowledge and experience in defining needs and requirements for test equipment, machinery and specialized fixtures or facilities for manufacturing, lab or model shop use
  • Participate in design review activities
  • Generate electronic design schematics utilizing Aleetium
  • Work closely with PCB designer to define optimum PCB layout parameters
MUST HAVES:

BSEE
6+ years experience in the field of product development
Experience in developing products within a Tollgate New Product Development Process
Basic knowledge of firmware/software programing and the design tradeoffs between electronics and firmware development
Basic Mechanical Engineering integration exposure
Basic knowledge of Project Management
